Women are no longer settling, accepting, or even believing in the status quo. We want more. We’re expecting more. And we’re finally starting to say it out loud.

Not quietly to ourselves, not wishing or complaining that things were different within our isolated friend circles, and not doubting the pull that’s been gnawing away at us for years.

We are showing up. We’re doubling down on our desires. We’re leaning on our communities. We’re cutting out the noise and tuning in. We’re owning our inherent worthiness.

And when we’re not? We can feel it. We catch ourselves and reach out for support. We’re working with therapists and coaches. We’re deeply evaluating our relationships with alcohol, social media, and food. Clients are leaving relationships, moving to different countries, pivoting industries, choosing alternative education for their children, and questioning absolutely everything.

Beyond the Inward Journey

While the early years of my coaching practice were focused on healing from within to change the external components of work and money, the future I see is entirely about investigating our relationships with others.

I’ve been watching this unfold both within myself and with my clients since late 2024 and 2025. Prior to this time, most of my client work was focused on helping folks navigate career shifts, ask for big raises or promotions, and start their own businesses. It was about negotiation, self-advocacy, and getting what we’re worth. And while those elements are still incredibly vital, the subtleties in my coaching conversations have shifted from mostly professional to deeply personal.

The theme I have heard for the past year and a half is clear: We are needing more from the people who are closest to us. Our partners. Our friends. Our bosses. We’re not only looking within; we’re looking around at the people and environments we’ve surrounded ourselves with.

Clients who show up in my world are doing, and have done, the work. They are highly self-aware. And they are finally ready to reclaim all areas of their lives—not just their corporate careers.

What this cultural moment convinces me of is this: our future is relational.

We’ve spent years focusing on how we are showing up as partners, parents, and leaders. But now? We’re focusing on what we expect back from our partners, our communities, and our organizations. What are we willing to do when the distribution of the weight is not at all balanced?

Subscribe now

The Human Element of Change

We talk endlessly about how AI and technology are changing our industries and automating our tasks. But technology isn’t the only thing evolving. What we really need to look at is the human element: how will everyone change? When the structural world shifts, our relationships and roles must shift too.

This is the question you get to answer for yourself right now.

You get to rewrite the rules for yourself and your future. You get to rewrite the job description for your work, your business, and your role at home. You have the opportunity to change anything that no longer aligns for you. The apple cart has already been upset. The “way it was” is completely gone. So, while all the apples are still up in the air, how will you choose to reorganize your own cart?

By spending the last decade trying to meditate, sitting in yoga classes, drinking our green juices, and remembering to breathe through our anger… we’ve arrived. We’ve arrived at a new moment in time where we have unprecedented access to:

Our intuition and inner knowing — we’ve met our higher selves.

Our personal points of power and choice.

Wealth and financial leverage like no other generation before us.

Data, tools, and tech to build exactly what we want.

The very systems that once tried to shut us out.

A new economy that we’ve built with our own creativity, connections, and credibility.

Rebuilding the Orchard

We have arrived at the point of no return. It’s time to be all-in on our biggest, boldest dreams for our lives, our communities, and our society—in the way we work, live, and enjoy life.

So, what will you do with this one precious moment in time? What area of your life is ripe for transformation right now?

You have permission to be the person who figures it out, rather than waiting on someone else to fix it. You have the expertise to leverage technology to build your ideal career, not fear it. You have a heart full of love yearning to share it with those who can actually receive it.

You have permission to use everything you’ve earned, learned, and burned over the years to begin again. Pause for a moment and truly, honestly evaluate: What has not been working in your life that you can no longer avoid or ignore?

Now is the time to step through the doorway and become who you’re meant to be. Now is the time to upset your own apple cart so you can rebuild an entire apple orchard.

It’s our time, and the fire is already lit. Transformation is a privilege. Let’s own it, leverage it, and create it entirely on our own terms.

Worthy Action: A Space for Transformation

If you’re ready to turn up the volume on the life you’ve only dared to dream of up until this point, let’s connect. My private coaching container is a safe space for the woman who is ready to harness the courage to take the boldest, most daring—and yes, scariest—step of her life.

If you are ready to be held to a higher standard and guided through this relational transformation with ease, book a On the heels of “the fire horse year” and equine therapy growing in popularity, I decided to try it out. It’s one healing modality I’d never checked out! And, it just so happened there’s a stable down the street from me in my new town.

I arrived on a rainy morning and saw about 15 horses grazing in the fields. Peaceful, strong, calm. However, my fear and anxiety started for me the second I signed the barn’s waiver—the one that literally said that death was a potential side effect.

When I was about eleven years old, my dad took me to a stable for horse riding. I can’t even remember if I actually rode a pony that day or not, but I vividly remember the intense fear and discomfort I felt around them. They seemed big and beautiful, but I felt out of control in this new situation.

Fast forward 30 years later, and I found myself face-to-face with a full-sized horse named Regatta.

The nerves and anxiety were pulsing as I approached her. I didn’t know how she’d move, where I should pet her, or if she might suddenly kick and shoot me across the barn, breaking my ribs.

But as I continued to make eye contact with her and watch my teacher, I began to relax and become curious. I realized that I needed to build trust with the horse by brushing, feeding, and cleaning her. By spending time making eye contact, learning how to care for her, and putting on her saddle and bridle, I became willing to touch her with more confidence because I finally knew the best “way in”. Doing this groundwork definitely helped the horse feel more comfortable with me, but more importantly, it helped me feel more comfortable with me.

Then came the moment of truth: walking her to the barn and getting on.

Getting on that horse was scary and exciting! I had the giddy laughs and inside I was watching all of the anxiety moving between my belly and heart. My thoughts were fear based, like: What if I can’t do this? What if I fall off? What if she starts running?.

Slow and steady, I got the hang of my posture while she walked. My teacher coached me on how to lead, turn, and nudge her. She told me, “Show her you’re in control,” and my confidence built by the second. I felt intense sparks of anxiety completely mixed with the thrilling realization of, “Wow, I’m doing it”! I am leading the horse!

Before I knew it, I was circling the barn with a massive perma-smile on my face—summoned from deep within me by pure, uncontrolled joy, pride, and the deep presence of learning as I went. I had to use my breath, check my posture, and notice how my own actions impacted the horse’s movement and behavior.

Here is the “truth serum” I was reminded of that day in the saddle: confidence is built through courageous action.

I hadn’t been faced with that level of “life and death” fear in a long time. Allowing myself to experience something new as a beginner allowed me to access my presence, confidence, and capability because I was willing to feel the fear and get on the horse anyway. I didn’t ignore the fear. Instead I steadied myself inside and out by using my breath, choosing my actions, and redirecting my thoughts. As I did this, the horse followed my lead.

Fear, often brought on my change and uncertainty can put us into shock. But, it offers us the ultimate opportunity to know ourselves deeper, if we are willing. If you’re feeling lack of clarity, out of control, and overwhelmed, there’s an opportunity for you to harness your fear by allowing it to wash over you and get curious about what’s underneath. How can you steady yourself to lead forward?

Let me guide you to face your fear and find your strength, courage and clarity. Once I stopped resisting the fear and focused on what I could actually control with the reins, I was able to steady my insides. I shifted my attention to being in control and guiding my ride, the lovely Regatta, exactly where I wanted to lead her.

This is EXACTLY the same power we have to co-create our own lives!.

Yes, sometimes the horse still wanted to turn left or stopped when I didn’t ask her to. Life does the exact same thing to us. When that happens, we have two choices: give in and let the horse do her thing, or take stock, decide where we are going next, and signal her to move ahead.

By facing my fears, changing up my routine, and doing something new, I rediscovered a lost part of myself. The courageous woman who loves to learn, loves to attempt new things, and loves to face her fears. The risk-taker. The one who bets on herself. The one who values experiences over things.

Riding a horse requires you to have conviction, be concise in your movements, and manage your own energy. They are a beautiful mirror of what you’re feeling, reminding you of your own power, sovereignty, and impact (and neuroses) .

How often do we feel anxiety and try to numb it? On a horse, there is no alcohol, food, scrolling, or numbing vice available. Forced presence is the ultimate mindfulness hack. There you are—with an animal that could kill you—forced to face your demons and shadows head-on. There is nothing else left to do but meet your power as you go on the ride of your life.

Our outside world continues to be chaotic. The energy around you might be telling you to go fast, move left, or move right. But I need you to remember something: You are the one in charge.

We are the tamers. We are the alchemizers. We are literally holding the reins of our lives and we can harness this energy in ways that truly align for us. Underneath the chaos of the world (the horse), and underneath the fear and doubt being stirred up within you, your soul is alive and well.

It will bring you dreams beyond your wildest imagination if you choose to go along for the ride with joy, presence, and a smile.

We can integrate and work with our fear instead of running from it. We can use it to our advantage by saying, “I hear you, you’re scared, but I am going to breathe and remind you that RIGHT NOW we’re safe,” so that we can choose to act with intention.

We all need that mirror, that encouragement, and that grounded stake in the ground that allows us to see, know, and feel our own worthiness. Our power. Our conviction. And maybe, just maybe, we’re living through these times to come home to ourselves, our inner knowing, and trust in all that we are.

If you are ready to take the reins and steady your insides, I want to help you.

To support you in navigating big changes and choosing to be the leader of your own life, I am offering a FREE “Fear Less” Meditation as a thank you for subscribing to this new little corner of Substack.

Subscribe below to get the meditation sent straight to your inbox!

Subscribe now

The Dream Hangover

When getting “what you want” isn't enough

Ashley Paré

Have you ever wanted something so badly it drove you crazy?

A new job.

A partner.

To earn $X amount of money.

To be a specific weight

A certain car/house/bag.

A feeling that just has to be out there.

You dream about it, work toward it, obsess over it. And wow, it’s been eye opening! I moved to the suburbs after years of living in tiny apartments. Now I have 3 toilets and an upstairs! Woohoo!

But my brain is sending me thoughts like:

What’s next?

This isn’t big enough

This isn’t a big deal at all

Is this good enough?

Now I need X,Y,Z

It’s maddening actually. Instead of simply enjoying our new home I’ve caught myself downplaying reaching the goal because “there’s still work to do”. Yuck.

Why does this happen?

The problem is we think once we reach the thing, it will create the state of being we are longing for. Insert joy, contentment, success, recognition, passion, or love.

But, it’s never really about getting/having the thing. Being in this “big house” isn’t going to give me inner peace, fulfillment, or safety. It’s not going to make me feel worthy of rest if I don’t already have access to that within me.

Same goes for the job title, the $35k raise, the car, and the new client—it’s not the object or goal itself that creates lasting joy and fulfillment. It’s the why, the journey, and the presence you live with every single day.

If you’re human, you’re not immune to this phenomenon. It’s been coined the “Arrival Fallacy” by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar and even the world’s #1 golfer commented about it’s impact on his life and game.

“The arrival fallacy is the false assumption that reaching some achievement or goal will create durable feelings of satisfaction and contentment in our lives. We incorrectly assume that we will finally experience the sensation of having arrived when we reach whatever we have propped up as our destination.”

Luckily I’ve caught myself in time to slow down and smell the beautiful roses, hear the birds, and watch my kids play in our new yard!

If you’re chasing the “thing” to make you feel complete, you’re setting yourself up for a dream hangover. There will always be another goal to meet to “get there”. I see this with my clients all the time:

They land the new gig.

They negotiate the big raise.

They finally get noticed by the headhunter.

They get married

They have a family

They start their own business

They quit the toxic job

And then they’re wondering what’s next and why don’t I feel as good as I thought I would?!

So, what can you do?

Check your thoughts right now. Consider a recent win, accomplishment, or something you’re proud of and use this exercise I’ve been taking myself through to support you in owning your worth:

Celebrate! Honor your achievement by commemorating it in a special way, big or small. Stop and pause to acknowledge what you’ve created and own the fact that you did it. Show gratitude in order to feel abundance and joy now.

Reflect - How did you get here? What did you learn from the challenges? How have you grown? What are you letting go of?

Share - Don’t keep your win to yourself and downplay your accomplishment. Throw a party, share with a friend, or post on social! Find a safe place or person, like Swiftie did, to announce and acknowledge that you did the damn thing. In fact, go ahead and hit reply to this email and share your dream come true with me!

Now, don’t get me wrong, dreaming is essential and being goal oriented is effective! But, the truth is, the “arrival fallacy” hits hardest when we believe the thing we’re chasing will make us feel worthy, happy, or complete.

If any part of you feels unworthy, undeserving, or like you must work hard every second to keep what you’ve earned— there will always be the need for more. There will always be the hangover after the big dream comes true.

Because you’ll feel like you have to work hard again, or that you’re still not good enough. That enough isn’t enough.

This is why making space to do the work to own your worth is worth it. When you already own your worth, the wins feel sweeter. The joy lasts longer. And the “dream hangover” doesn’t have as much power over you—because your identity isn’t tied to the next goal.

That’s the work I do with my clients (and that I practice over and over again myself).

We untangle your worth from your achievements so you can enjoy what you’ve earned and keep creating more from a place of ease, not pressure.

If you’ve been chasing the next thing and wondering why it never feels like enough—or you want to make sure your next big win actually feels like a win—it’s time to own your worth.

Because you deserve to feel worthy now, not just when you “arrive.”

This Substack is reader-supported. He didn’t dilute his truth to fit the machine. Instead, he leaned completely into his people, his history, his language, and his immense talent. That is where true power comes from—not from fighting back, changing your past, or hiding your unique gifts.

If you are navigating a career transition or interviewing right now, the same rule applies. The most “productive” thing you can do for your career is to get quiet, get grounded, and get back to your roots. Because if you don’t own your authentic voice, how can you expect a company to choose you over the “cloned” masses?

Here are 3 ways to differentiate yourself and land a role that honors your true worth:

1. Be Bold (Stop Waiting for Permission)

Stop waiting for a perfectly written job description to give you permission to make a move. Instead of blindly applying to 50 “okay” roles, identify 5 companies where your specific values and “roots” can create a massive impact. Reach out directly to a leader at one of those companies with a perspective that only you have—one that might even challenge their current status quo.

2. Narrate Your “Non-Negotiables”

In your next interview, don’t just talk about what you can do; lead with what you won’t do or where you refuse to compromise. High-level trust is built on clarity, not compliance. When you are brave enough to clearly state your boundaries, you signal to an employer that you aren’t just looking for a paycheck—you’re looking for a true partnership.

3. Invest in Human Friction

If you only talk to people (or AI) who agree with you, you will stay exactly where you are. Intentionally put yourself in rooms—like a coaching group or a mastermind—where people will disagree with your self-limiting beliefs. Real growth is a “trust fall” into the hands of a community that cares enough to tell you the truth.

A Final Thought for Your Next Interview: After all, how will a company trust you enough to get the job done if you don’t trust yourself enough to authentically show them who you are?

Ready to stop playing small and start taking bold action?
